          James Whitmore Sr.'s grandchildren build on his theater dream

          As the grandchildren of legendary actor James Whitmore Sr. and the children of award-winning television director James Whitmore Jr., it’s no surprise that Aliah and Jacob Whitmore ended up working in the entertainment industry.

          Although she has done some acting and TV work, live theater is the focus and passion of Aliah, 33, who was raised in Thousand Oaks and graduated from Westlake High School.

          She currently lives in the San Fernando Valley.

          She’s proud to carry on the legacy of her grandfather, who passed away in 2009, as the founder and creative director of the nonprofit Whitmore Eclectic Theater Company.

          The family-based production company formed to honor her grandfather’s artistic vision and commitment to furthering live theater and public education.
