Joseph Kosuth, born on January 31, in Toledo, Ohio, is an American artist and one of the pioneers of conceptual art.
He is renowned for his installations, particularly "One and Three Chairs" ().
Early Life and Education
Kosuth attended the Toledo Museum School of Design from to , where he studied under Belgian painter Line Bloom Draper.
In , he enrolled in the Cleveland Art Institute and spent the following year in Paris, traveling extensively throughout Europe and North Africa.
